Write the Best Curriculum Vitae

Watch “How to Write a Curriculum Vitae” from the leading video provider. This informative video will give you useful instructions to guarantee your success at CV writing. Created by Videobug

In addition to this video, I recommend the following steps when drafting your CV:

Step 1: Know Your Audience
Adjust your document to fit the desired position you are seeking. Do your research and know exactly what your audience is looking for in the perfect candidate.
Step 2: Put yourself in the Employers place
What would they like to know about your previous experience and role? What achievements have you accomplished relating to the role? Do you understand what the job duties?
Step 3: First Half Page
Your most important selling points go in the first half page. Sell yourself but keep it short. No more than 2 to 3 pages for the entire CV. Use this document as a snapshot of your experience.
Step 4: The Layout
The first section includes your name, email address, contact details, date of birth, and your nationality. Be sure that all information is correct so that there is no issue with contacting you.
Step 5: Profile
This section should answer the question “Who are you?” Make your professional identity very clear. Keep it short and to the point.
Step 6: Areas of Expertise
This section is designed for key skills. They already know who you are, so now tell them what you do, and how you do it very well. Highlight things that are a particular interest to your audience.
Step 7: Career History
Outline the jobs you have had, the companies you have worked for, and their basic descriptions. Keep the short descriptions and try to mention achievements. Show them what you have done and how you excelled job expectations.
