Optimum - Word of the Week

The word of the week is optimum. Optimum means most conducive to a favorable outcome or best.
Some of you are currently taking summer classes to speed up the time of receiving your degree and reaching success. However, in order to achieve success academically or professionally, one must execute a plan. How do you plan to complete a course successfully? What is your optimum studying strategy for a course? Here are a few examples of how to stay on track and create positive studying strategies:
* Designate certain times of the day to study each subject,
* Designate an area to study,
* Take notes and find videos to help better understand the subject,
* Always reach out to your professor when you are confused or don’t quite understand.
As Students of Learning, you can achieve optimum academic performance by creating a study strategy that will aid in successfully completing your academic goals.

Incite - Word of the Week

This week's Word of the Week is incite, which means to move into action, to stir up, to spur on or to urge on. With all that is going on in our world today, it is easy to think negatively towards issues. As Students of Learning, it is important to incite positivity in all aspects of life. It is imperative that the right attitude is geared towards your studies and future goals so that you can reach your success. As so eloquently said by Dr. Ryan Spry, our Director of Student and Campus Services, “While we all have emotions, they are not meant to dictate our decision making or behaviors. Emotions are indicators, not dictators.”

Here is a quick video that will help you “detox” your emotions, gain a healthy, more balanced perspective in life, and incite a positive mindset to others around you.
