New Year's TIP

Anyone who relies on tips as a substantial part of his or her income should receive 15% at the very least—20% for average-to-good service," says etiquette expert Jacqueline Whitmore (Men's Health December 2014). Yet many times, we tend to give tips based on the quality of service. Less quality less tip, more quality perhaps, one will tip 10% of the bill.  Anyone with experience in the service industry knows the truthfulness about tips. Usually, a waiter or waitress can look at you and determine how much you will leave in tips before services begin. Just think, how often do you leave a substantial quantity that equates to the quality of service you received during a meal? How often do you gauge the value of a dollar based how many times you get your glass refilled? When an individual depends on the public for payment of service, does the public treat them respectfully and honorably? Mainly, do you realize that these individuals depend substantially on your givings?

Some individuals leave notes stating that "if I give God only 10%, why should I give you 15%." This argument becomes more relevant toward giving more than 15%. If you grasp the concepts of Scriptural references to offerings and tithing. One will realize a grain (meal) offering consisted of the first fruit of ones' product as an additional giving from ones' tithes. The meal offerings demonstrated generosity to the Creator for provisions. Therefore, one who uses such justification in providing less tips should realize that such actions express ungratefulness to the Creator's generosity.

Therefore, I challenge you to think globally about tipping in 2015. Don't follow the natural tipping path of which one tends to rate the service as good or bad before leaving a tip. I suggest that you base the tip amount on the potential of service and your gratitude toward the Creator. For instance, professional athletes like Lebron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers get paid on his potential for winning a championship.  Once the potential to perform ceases, then the salary of such an enormous amount ceases. Similarly, a globally minded person will base the tip amount on the potential of rendering greater services while demonstrating gratitude to purchase of such delicious meals. So when you return to that establishment you will reap greater quality of services. Simultaneously, your Creator will recognize your generosity toward individuals who depend substantially on your tips.

Tipping is a Win-Win situation so tip like you never tipped before and watch the services increase toward you.
